The National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report has highlighted this crisis, revealing that veteran suicide has become the No. 1 issue facing this community. With statistics indicating that between 17 and 22 veterans or service members take their own lives each day, equating to over 6,000 lives lost annually, it's evident that urgent action is required. This issue demands immediate attention, particularly as the rate of suicide among veterans is more than 50% higher than that of their non-veteran counterparts.
